The Black Death in the continent

Do you know why people call this disease as the Black Death? The patients ,who were contaminated by the Black Death, died with high fever that burns their skin till it becomes black at the end of the death. This disease often appears as materials of literature that describe miserable hopeless life of that day; Like this, the Black Death brought shadows of death over whole european country.

The plague became fear itself since its first initiation killed 2.5million people in 1340s; The number of death was one third of people in Europe at that time. Except for the first initiation, the Black Death took millions of lives over and over again. Especially in Britain, 7 million people died only in 14th century and it didn't stop. In addition, in asia's case, the death rate was near 90 percents of popularity in 1353

The disease ruined not only people but also society. Under influence of the virus this period was quite depressed and drenched with pessimism all over the continent. People regarded that the jew, homeless people was the cause of the disease, in this reason they exercised violence onto them and even slaughtered poor people. However after scientist proved that there is no infection among humans, soon people started to believe another theory that insisted what main cause of it was flea from the rodents.

People found out how the rats infected human. The procedure was simple; After flea drinks blood of infected rat, it also drink human's blood; in this procedure the virus pass on to human's skin. Then was the rats the only cause of million of graves in europe? It is true that the rats helped making graves but it was not only cause. Some of patients, who have strong immune system, could have survived, but at that time there were famine and coldness at the end their illness got worse.

The Black Death was everywhere. In europe, asia, central asia and even North Africa. Nothing have broken death rate record after the plague in the history until now. At that time people reckoned the virus as judgement of god, so there were a famous novel that contained those substance; Foul Ferrest in 1656. Someone might say that we don't need to worry about pest because we have advanced medical system. However experts anticipated the terrorist can use the virus in their work, therefore I guess human race is not free from the Black Death yet.

  2. Your article is very interesting. I also was interested in the plague since I was a kid.
And I obtained a lot of information about the plague through your essay.
The hook about the Black Death also is attractive.
But I think your opinion should be added to your essay. I feel your idea is not enough.

It might be my bad idea.
Your writing style may be right.

Of course, your essay is very good.
    Anyway, Good luck :)

  3. I like your article because it is about a disease that most of us are unaware of. Therefore, I think is very informative. Also, I like the specific description about the symptoms of Black Death which is very threatening.

Your main point seems to be the Black Death was one of the most deadly disease in the past that had huge influence on people.

I like the expression judgement of God because it seems to portray the characteristics of the disease very well.

Use of word contanimated should be corrected though. a word contanimate is usually used when we want to describe damage that has been done to nature. I think "Infect" or "Contract" would be a better choice.

I agree with the Sangseek in that your opinion should be included as well as the description of disease itself. I would make your essay more strong.
