Second Draft

It took 9 year to Marco Polo to travel around Europe to Asia, but today, it can be done in a single day by plane. The world is becoming even smaller than ever. Transportation technology is getting more and more unbelievable. It became more convenient to move around and as a result, it led us to the era of globalization. Transportation, in general, can be categorized into three modes: land, water, and air and each mode have its own advantages.

First is land transportation, which is the oldest way of travel. Nowadays, there are two kinds of transportation: vehicle and train. For about the vehicle, the most important aspect is convenience. Car always is in front of home, and it can go wherever driver wants to go. Vehicle transportation is the most common way of travel. It consists of private car, taxi, bus, and so on. Train, in contrast, is not that convenient, but it is faster than car. Since train is always on the railway so it rarely stuck in a traffic jam. Also, thanks to this characteristic, train is usually on time.

Second is water transportation by ship. As ship is moving through water, of course it cannot make high speed compared to other transportation modes. But talking about the luggage transportation, ship's load capacity is unmatched to others, and that's why that nowadays exports and imports are still highly relying on water transportation.

Last is air transportation. This mode was developed comparatively later, so it boasts a state-of-art and cutting-edge technology. As plane flies in the air, so it can make very high speed, and never be jammed. Air transportation is the main cause of globalization, which can take passengers anywhere in the Earth in just one day.

Contemporary transportations are completely depends on those three modes and these entire three make up for the other's weak points. Land transportation is suitable for daily life transportation, water transportation for freightage, and air transportation for traveling over countries and continents. These three modes are the axis of nowadays human being's life.
